If you're saying popcorn but not butter, do you mean cooked corn maybe? Could be DMS. Did you get a good hot break and a solid boil throughout? Did you boil uncovered?

The boil could have been better, but it was very full, went over volume trying to throw together a 5g BIAB stove-top at the last minute (when I haven't done a 5g batch on the stove in about a year)
