Alrighty, so yesterday I picked up a kegerator from craigslist (hooray me!) that came with a 20 pound co2 tank, regulator, and some assorted bits and pieces.

So, when I was checking out the stuff I asked whether or not the co2 tank had an up-to-date certification. He didn't know; he'd picked it up from a welding supply place he worked some years ago. I bought the kegerator anyway 'cause even with a 20-25 dollar re-cert it was still a steal. But, my question is what would the certification look like? There's a sticker on the top of the tank and a warning towards the bottom, but nothing with a date on it.

certification date is usually stamped directly into the bottle someplace.

Even if it is out of cert you can usually just trade it in when you get a refill and they don't care.
