I haven't had much mead, but I would like to try some more, and was wondering if this looks like a good deal to anyone? http://wine.woot.com/
Background: Produced in California by Bargetto Winery, this traditional mead is aged in redwood tanks. Produced from a blend of orange, alfalfa, and sage honey.
Presentation: Dark brown bottle, blue synthetic cork. Pours a clear, extremely light yellow. 11% ABV.
Nose: Bread and honey. A hint of oranges.
Taste: Quite sweet. Clear honey taste, medium bready finish.
Overall: Not impressive. Overly sweet, taste is basically honey and alcohol. While the aftertaste isn't horrible, it is somewhat odd. I probably won't be buying this again.
