Point the first - not a great price. $9.99 apiece from http://www.bevmo.com/

Point the second - not a great mead.

Background: Produced in California by Bargetto Winery, this traditional mead is aged in redwood tanks. Produced from a blend of orange, alfalfa, and sage honey.

Presentation: Dark brown bottle, blue synthetic cork. Pours a clear, extremely light yellow. 11% ABV.

Nose: Bread and honey. A hint of oranges.

Taste: Quite sweet. Clear honey taste, medium bready finish.

Overall: Not impressive. Overly sweet, taste is basically honey and alcohol. While the aftertaste isn't horrible, it is somewhat odd. I probably won't be buying this again.

I haven't had the raspberry, but I doubt it's much better.

I had Chaucer's regular mead that comes with some mulling spices.

Red Stone makes a decent mead, but I hear it runs $40 a bottle.

I'll second that, Malkore. Red Stone makes a good mead.
Not that expensive out here though.
