Hello, all. I made an 1800ml starter 24 hours ago. Today it was bubbling like mad, with large chunks of yeast (probably 3 tbs. worth total) flowing out of the flask onto my (protected) stir plate. The overflowing has been going on all day.

Question: How much of the population did I lose in overflow? Should I scrap this starter or save it?

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks! :)

I would definately not scrap it. Let it sit till the yeast cake settles and see what your left with.

Ok, thanks guys. I'm getting ready to brew up 10 gals of Flanders Red and hit it with WLP001 in primary ... then splitting it between two secondaries with Wyeast's Roselare and White Labs new Flemish Ale blend, respectively. I'm getting excited! :)
