How large does my mash tun need to be?

I'm looking to switch to all-grain brewing soon and am trying to get set up. I'd like to use a cooler for a mash tun, how big should it be? I'll be brewing 5 gallon batches for the forseeable future, is 48 quarts large enough? 60? 75?

No problem. If you're doing 5 gallon batches, 48qt coolers are definitely big enough...

A 48 quart cooler should be sufficient.

Yeah, 10 gallons of mash tun space is good, but not so large that it is not heat efficient.

I have a five gallon cooler and when mashing 11 pounds the mash out watter about fills it up.
