This spawns from my 1st thread - I didn't want to hijack myself

I'm tempted to follow the advice of my learned friends here and postpone my first brew, a Tripel, until I have something under my belt that will allow more immediate gratification. What's the best way to store the recipe kit: room temp, fridge or freezer? Same for the dry yeast?

Thanks!

(the bigger question is what do I brew first? Will a wheat beer mature quickly yet stick around until Summer? I really want my first batch to be idiot-proof)

i store hops in the freezer, extracts in the fridge and uncracked grains in a 5 gal bucket or the bags they came in. yeast is always in the fridge, dry or liquid. cracked grains should go in the fridge too, but i'd use them soon if they're already cracked.
