First post on HBT!
Brewed my 2nd batch yesterday, a milk stout kit from Brewer's Best.
OG was at 1.065 when I pitched my yeast and had about 4.5 gal in the primary when I sealed it off.
This was a little high according to the directions...recommends being between 1.057-1.061
I'm bubbling away this afternoon, but now i'm thinking of adding some more water to increase the yield.
Can I get away with adding water right now without comprimising the batch(much)?

In my opinion, I would leave it be and accept the fact that your beer might be stricken with a slightly higher ABV. :rockin:

Once fermentation has started, I have always been told and read that you should let it be. I would not recommend adding water at this time.

If you're carefull the chance of causing an infection is pretty minor.

If it were me, I wouldn't bother adding water. So it is a little stronger then the recipie. Those aren't written in stone by any means.

when in doubt,
