I just realized that I mashed with an extra gallon of water. I used 4.7 gallon instead of 3.7. I am going to sparge with a gallon less of course. What can I expect from this beer? I haven't brewed in a while and I am out of practice.

Thank you.

Thanks. I know I should have searched first but I was rushing and I haven't brewed in over a year. I have been so damn busy... I'm chalking any mistakes this time up to refreshing my knowledge :)

Oh... it was 9.85 pounds of grain.

Thanks again!

You're definitely good - that's only 1.9 qt/lb. I'd think you'd have to go a lot thinner than that to really throw the pH off.

I tend to go that thin every time I brew. Don't really think there is a problem with it or at least I haven't noticed any.
