Time to upgrade my extract equipment

Okay, I'm going to move up to full boils with a 10 gallon kettle, a fermentation freezer, a temp controller, a stir plate, and a 6 gallon better bottle for fermentation. Listed below are the things I'm thinking of buying, any suggestion on different equipment? Better prices? Thanks.

1. Northern Brewer: Better Bottle Plain 6 Gallon (This will replace my ale pails) -- $27.50

2. Lowes: Frigidaire 7.2 Cu. Ft. Chest Freezer (New fermentation chamber) -- $228.00


3. Northern Brewer: 10 Gallon MegaPot (Replaces my 5 gallon kettle) -- $132.99


4. Northern Brewer: Johnson Controls A419 (New controller for chest freezer) -- $79.99


5. Homebrew Headquarters: Magnetic Stir Plate (New equipment) -- $59.99

Kettle - 40 qt. NSF Stainless Steel Stock Pot w/Lid $104.00 - Others out there for less.

Does that Ranco require any wiring or rewiring, or is it the kind that you can just plug the freezer into?

you can get love controllers for 49 bucks. its not dual stage so dont know if that matters to you. you can go with a 30qt pot for full boils and those can be had at your local sporting goods store with a burner. i paid 49 bucks for mine and keep an eye on craigslist. take the savings and buy a couple lager kits or a keg or two

FWIW, I own better bottles and buckets. I actually prefer to use the buckets. YMMV. Also, it's a pain in the rear lifting 5 gallons of beer in and out of a freezer. If you want to buy a freezer, make it pull double duty. see:

You will have to wire it. If you require it to be plug in ready there are dealers out there that wire it for resale.
