I went to Canada and I tried Alexander Keith's Red Amber Ale. I thought it was awesome. :mug:

so I made this recipe tell me what you think.

Recipe: Red Amber Ale
TYPE: Partial Mash
Taste: (35.0)

3.00 lb Pilsner Liquid Extract (3.5 SRM)

1.00 oz Williamette [5.50%] (60 min)
1.00 oz Williamette [5.50%] (15 min)
0.50 oz Saaz [4.00%] (30 min)
1.50 oz Saaz [4.00%] (5 min)
2 Pkgs Nottingham (Danstar #-)

it's probably not going to be very red.

The munich will add a bit of red color, but you may wish to replace some of your 60L with a higher crystal (120L) and throw in just a touch of roasted barley.

I also would not use any dark liquid extract. use your grains to get the color, extract is just for fermentables.

agree with the 120L.

Just as a reference, the Imperial Amber i just did used 120L and it had a very nice red color to it.
