Hey

Is it safe to ferment a 2 gallon batch in a 5 gallon better bottle? Or will the extra head space cause a problem?

Thanks!!!

if it's primary, i wouldnt worry about it as all that co2 will take up the airspace and you wont have to worry about oxidation. if it's a secondary, i would advise against it.

Once the CO2 starts generating you should be fine!
The CO2 will sit atop the wort and push the O2 up and out since it is more dense than the O2!

first, repitch some yeast. Second, dump it.

Nah its cool, i think its seeping out from under the lid. There isn't a rubber seal on this lid. I plan on doing a gravity test this weekend to confirm at any rate. I've got an extra packet of US-05 just in case. Thanks for the suggestions!
