I'm brewing a 6.5 gallon batch today. It's a sort of imitation of Denny Conn's Waldo Lake Amber.
I wanted a lower ABV, but a great malt flavor, rich caramel taste, red color and lots of hops. This is to fill two 3 gallon kegs for our pilgrimage to Texas in three weeks.
7 lbs 12.0 oz Pale Malt (2 Row) US (2.0 SRM) Grain 4 54.4 %
4 lbs Munich Malt - 20L (20.0 SRM) Grain 5 28.1 %
2 lbs Carared (20.0 SRM) Grain 6 14.0 %
8.0 oz Melanoiden Malt (20.0 SRM) Grain 7 3.5 %
0.75 oz Magnum [11.60 %] - Boil 60.0 min Hop 8 24.0 IBUs
1.50 oz Cascade [5.40 %] - Boil 15.0 min Hop 9 11.1 IBUs
1.50 oz Centennial [9.60 %] - Boil 0.0 min Hop 10 0.0 IBUs
