I have some UK Phoenix hops and was wondering if anyone has experience using them for flavor or aroma. They are pretty high in alpha acids which is good for bittering, but I'd like to use them for the other additions if applicable. Do these work well for English/Irish ales?

Thanks!

I've never used them, but in Pale Ales by Terry Foster, there is a recipe for an IPA using Phoenix hops for bittering and flavor.

I recently did a bitter with Phoenix but I have NO idea how it comes out.

Please let us know how it comes out. I'm definitely interested!

I recently made an Irish Ale using .5oz fuggles at 5 min. The batch was excellent and disappeared fast last weekend (I had no idea that kegging could make beer disappear so quick). I am thinking about making that recipe again but I'll substitute the UK Phoenix for the Fuggles and see how it tastes.
