I am making some beer right now out of a pot that I used to make root beer, using extract. Will root beer stain or taint my normal beer? Im using a stainless steel pot, but is there any way i can get out the root beer smell?

RB won't stain but the smell is hard to get out of plastic and rubber.

I keep a seperate bottling bucket for making root beer. It says "ROOT BEER ONLY" on the side of it.

I'll tell you what, I made root beer from extract THREE YEARS ago and I can still smell it in the fermenter and the bottles. I got tired of cleaning it over and over and still smelling it so I tossed it out. The bottles eventually stopped smelling. The stainless steel pot though came clean with baking soda.
