Hey guys,

Looking for some advice/lessons learned as I plan to brew a high gravity all grain beer but I am trying to determine what is the most amount of grains I could use? I was looking at doing an 18 lbs of grain with a mash profile of 1.33 which equals to a mash in volume of 6.0 gallons and a mash out of 2 gallons. Would all this volume of water fit in the mash tun? the water it self will take up 8 gallons of the 12 allowable.

I've found grain to take up about 1 gal/5#. I managed somehow to fit 28# of grain in my 50qt cooler, but that was the max.
