Ok so I'm boiling my first ah batch as we speak. It appears I missed my sg by 20 points or so. It's a Midwest wheat (a 312 clone). Shooting for 1.045 and after some reduction I hit 1.025. I'm using keggles and this is my first attempt. I'm sure this is part of figuring effiency right? Should I adjust for next brew? Sorry ill post specifics later as I've got a bit o buzz going....lol
 
Besides posting more info, are you sure you cooled your sample down? If not, did you adjust for the temp? 20 points off seems like a bit too much....
 
If you took that reading while you are still boiling, you don't have your true OG. Your gravity will go up as you boil off more water. Did you check again after the end of th boil?
