I was wondering if I can get some feed back on this recipe. Its my first crack at making one and not buying a kit. Any thoughts on what to change or add? I heard of some people adding Beats to get a deeper red?

Amber LME 4lbs
Amber DME 1lbs
2 Row Caramel 60 8oz
2 Row Caramel 80 8oz
Flaked Barley 8oz

Kent Golding 1oz 60 min
Fuggles 2oz 5 min

Wyeast Irish Ale

Thanks!

try cutting you Carmel 80 to 4 oz and adding 4oz of roasted barley. . . .
it will give you a richer "red" color (levibond of 18) and will give you that bit of a roasted flavor people look for in a Irish Red

no beats . . . .
