Is 1960s Ballantine IPA Americas own 18th century Porter?

Like many of you, I've long heard of the mythical Ballantine IPA. A quick search here yielded a number of threads on this beer, it's properties, and possible recipe formulations. This beer is less than 50 years lost, and it seems as if its become almost as Holy Grail-ish as the long-lost 18th century Porter.

Is there any other "lost" American beer formula that is as much sought-after as this one?

Personally I miss some of Bert Grant's beers (IPA of course, but I LOVED Perfect Porter), but I've not heard near the nostalgic waxing for them as BIPA...
