Hi, guys,

Could anyone tell me how to remove the trilobe spear from a 50L keg? I have depressurized the keg and unscrewed the trilobe connector, but there is a safety latch that holds it in place (in case some idiot unscrews it while the keg is pressurized, I would imagine) and I do not have the special tools required to remove it. I know it can be done with waterpump pliers or the like, because I have it seen being done, but so far I haven't managed it.

Any advise appreciated! Thanks! :mug:

Pull up and twist then the spring should shoot it back into the keg.

If you pry the rubber out of the center you should be able to get some kind of tool or screwdriver in to release the latch.

OK. This is how it turns out to work:

1. Take heavy pliers and push the rubber seal down.
2. Grab center valve with pliers.
3. Pull up, twist CLOCKWIDE (about 45 degrees) and release.
4. Center valve should now be unlocked from outer trilobe barrel.
5. Remove trilobe barrel from keg.

Cheers! :mug:
