So how does the picker work? It looks like you strip the vines of leaves and cones which fall onto the slanted board. The cones roll down the board and the guy with the squegee looking thing pulls the leaves and stems out?

I'm in the process of starting a small-scale commerical farm in New England and am looking for ways to harvest.

A few seconds on the actual stripper would have been nice. Looks like a chicken-wire belt with some plywood to smack the cones through, then a shaker to sieve out leaves.

Cheers to inovation and the small scale organic farmer!

Hopefully, folks will look back on your pioneering efforts in the North Fork Valley, and say man, remember when you made that first hop stripper...:mug:

Best of luck for harvest 2009!

Nice job, I am working on one myself. Verry different design though. Once you get a few hundred bines it is to much to do by hand.

Impressive! Just thinking of what it took to make that machine work. You sir have an obvious passion for your hops. I will be taking a trip up to Colorado in July, I would love to detour and buy some hops from you, if you have any ready.
