Any northern Indianans out there know a place to get good beer in South Bend? I've been a handful of times and have struck out.

Help appreciated. Thanks.:mug:

My Great Lakes Brewing Guide shows a Mishawaka Brewing (brewpub/microbrewery). The location is 3703 Main Street, Mishawaka, IN -- 574-256-9993 (Mishawaka is right next to SB). But have not been there.

Not too far away in Michigan City is Shoreline Brewery which I have visited and enjoyed very much. It is just a few blocks from Blue Chip Casino.

A bit further away, but if you are in that neck of the woods, you should consider a pilgrimage to 3 Floyd's Brewing in Munster, a brewpub/microbrewery renowned for its creative/big beers.

Thanks BooneDocks. I might try Mishawaka. I will be working all day Friday and then working at night Saturday. So all I really have is Friday night free. Unfortunately, that kills any pilgrimmages.

If you get a chance later on try the Livery in Benton Harbor, it's a good brewpub.

Sadly I moved away from the area but the Livery was great...good beer selection (the brewer liked to make big bocks but there was a variety of beers, they had an AMAZING American Brown in the winter), nice atmosphere, run by a bunch of old hippies who like to talk about the time they saw Jefferson Starship...

Well I'm sure this is a little late but maybe it can help next time. There is a place right on the ND campus called Legends of Notre Dame which can sometimes have decent beer on tap. Another is in downtown South Bend Fiddler's Hearth - Your Local in South Bend Indiana and they have a good selection and better atmosphere than Legends. There is also a Granite City chain brewery in Mishawaka 3 miles from ND and a newly opened Mad Anthony's brewpub in Elkhart which is about 20 miles east of SB.

A little late, but thanks still. I did hit up Fiddler's Hearth and it was very good. Bells Hopslam followed by Chimay Triple. Salvaged an otherwise terrible night.
