Here's my alternative to using upstairs closets to bottle condition in the late Fall/Winter/Spring when the basement gets pretty cold (down to mid 50's). It's also nice for storing a primary post active fermenation to free up my fermenation chamber for cold crashing or fermenting. I've been keeping it set at 72F. I cellar the bottles with well carbonated.

I used 1-1/2" Styrofoam, A419 Controller, PC fan & homemade resistance heater.

Seriously though, I like the simplicity. Just a foam insulation box with some temp control. No need to get more complicated than that if you don't want or need to. Let us know how it works out.

I've used it to carbonate 2 batches now. It will be a huge improvement over using very limited upstairs closet space during the cold months.

Here is a plot of the temperature stability when set about 10F greater than my basement temperature.
