Over the holidays I noticed a local market was selling apple cider in large cappable bottles. Here is what they look like http://freshneasybuzz.blogspot.com/2010/12/house-brand-sparking-cider-rules-at.html
The bottles seem heavier duty than standard bottles. I was wondering if I could use them for my Belgian beer...do you think they could take the pressure of bottle conditioning? Also would a standard crown cap be able to hold the pressure? The cider is pretty well carbonated. Just looking for an alternative to the cork and cap technique.

If you have the ubiquitous red baron wing capper, it will work better on that type of bottle if you flip the metal plates that grab the neck (the 29mm sides should face the neck).
