My Irish Moss bottle says to add 1 tsp in the last 15 min of brew. However,, my recipe calls for adding the aroma hops for 5 min, then terminate boil. I'm concerned the Irish Moss will effect the aroma hops. Any suggestions are appreciated. . .

I don't even think Irish Moss or Whirlfloc is even necessary in Extract beers. There is less trub and break in extract due to extracts have been processed twice (once when they make it and once when you boil it).

But 15 min is fine... 1 tsp. won't affect the flavor, but if you go overboard and dump a lot in there then you may have some off flavors.

I use it in my extracts and it makes a huge difference on clarity. I have not noticed any off flavors. When I rack to a secondary there is a ton of stuff left behind in the primary.
