It was between and ESB, and English IPA or a Pumpkin Ale for me today. I decided since I don't have any marris otter I shouldn't try and fake it. Went with the pumpkin ale.

I really need to do a hoppy brew though, think I'm gonna have to order me a 25kg sac of marris otter.

I've got about 40kg of Maris left.

This is the hoppiest one I've done.
60+ IBU I normally do around 30 - 40.

I'm considering oak chips in the secondary.

The boil kettle worked okay as a HLT.

I always use my boil kettle as the HLT. Hopefully I'll get the two keggles from Edwort soon and can get past that stage.

As far as IBU's go, I haven't hit many at all in my last 8 batches, I really need to do a an IPA of some sort.

How long do you intend on letting it condition (at least, in theory), Orfy?

I've not thought about it yest. I'll keg it so I'll probably sample one a week to check. When I'm happy I'll start on it. I think It may need 6 weeks+ though.

That's what I was thinking. I recently proved to myself (again) how much conditioning over time helps a brew. Especially when the ibus are pretty high, a good amount of time in the keg/bottle really helps the hops and malt meld. Good luck with it!
