hello fellow brewers.
for the past few months i have been using a simple turkey fryer and doing the old oven mitt and dump the hot water into the mash tun. I have recently purchased a 9 gallon 2 port ss pot on the cheap (im sure you have seen these around) now im thinking brew stand (next logical choice) now, i have a 1000w single burner portable type element, would this heat mash water about 3.5 gallons to the high 160,s? and then about 3.5 - 4 more gallons again during the mash? if not, how many watts would i need? should i buy another propane burner? I already have this element, maybe just dreaming.
i am planning on putting a valve and thermometer on the aluminum pot(HLT)

Okay i found a math chart thing and i think i calculated 2 hours for 4 gallons to 170. Does this seem right?

I have no idea if that would be right or not, but that is long ass time to wait for water to heat. Get another propane burner.
