I have brewed the NB Irish red a few times last fall. My plan this time is to double the recipe this year and do a partigyle. Litterally buy 2 kits, use the first runnings as my Imperial Irish Red that I'll add a little Cascade to the nose just because I think it sounds good (even though it doesn't stick to style guidlines) and then use the second runnings as my session Irish Red.
My thoughts are have the Red ready in 6 weeks and then the Big guy ready in about 3 months when it's nice and freakin cold.
Also, I'm going to use the San Diego Super strain for the Imperial & just regular AmII for the Irish Ale as well as have some LME on hand in case I need to bump up the SG on the Red ale.
Thoughts? Suggestions?? I'm super pumped, I've never done a partigyle.
