Currently warming water for my first BIAB and having a Hob Goblin while I'm at it. No home brew on tap :(, the last two kegs went too fast. Anyways...tried googling beer smith BIAB calculation set up and think I have it down, but wanted to run it by some of your ole pros.

My set up isn't large enough to do a full BIAB; however, I'm using a sticky on here to complete my first one. So:

8 lbs of grain

Mash in at 152F using 2.5 gal

Batch sparge (tea bag sparge?) with 170F 4 gal?

add everything and boil as usual. If not...better tell me now. This is a five gallon batch of course. I'm mashing now.

Mash temp right on, batch sparing currently. Final Mash tasted super sweet. After reading everything on HBT I still feel like I'm doing something wrong here; however...it should still taste like beer. Will start the boil shortly.

Gonna have some boil over me thinks.

According to the online calculators, i hit about 70%.

Preboil Vol/SG = 7 gal/1.035
Post Boil Vol/SG = 5.5/ 1.043

Anyways...going into the fermentor in about 5 mins. Sample tasted good...this is the first brew I've done in a while that had cascades in it....smelled awesome.

I have yet to do a BIAB recipe but it is next on my list, so I have no input. Since its been about a month since your brew day, I was wondering how it turned out. Any updates??:mug:
