Been slaughtered at work, but in-between firedrills have been (rather slackly) researching how to set-up the whole thing. Have come up with a goose-egg for CMG: can anyone on the thread speak to what would need to be done in order to get (or use) an account with them?
Aside from that, looks like their current inventory/price list is password-protected. If we had access to the latest, it'd probably be fairly simple to fix up a spreadsheet to run a tally of what everyone wants, with a running tally of lbs/bags to fill a pallet as well as cost-per-person. I would be happy to maintain this once we get some intel on setting up an account and if possible general logistics of the thing. I will PM a few group buy thread owners and see what they say, but speak up in the meantime if you've done this before.
I found the current price list that CountryMalt uses for homebrewers to do group buys in the VA group buy thread. The prices in there are much steeper than I remember seeing. I thought we could buy bags of 2-row for around $30, but the cheapest they have is Great Western 2-row for approx $46 a bag after shipping. I can just buy a 50 lbs bag of Briess 2-row at Alt Bev for around $56 and CountryMalt wants $75 for the same thing! My interest has rapidly faded in this based upon pricing.
