I am preparing to brew this weekend and want to get his under way before the heat sets in for spring. Basement has ambient temps to do this american lager.

What do you all think? I have gone back and forth with this but seems to be the best (simple). I am decocting twice due to the use of pilsner malt. I know I don't have to but I want to try anyway to see what I can come up with.

Thoughts?:)

Thanks

- WW

I'd include some crystal in there. Maybe 8 lbs of pilsner and 0.75 lbs of crystal 20 or 40.

I wanted to brew one of these as well..I'm afraid I might not have enough time. Things are actually starting to warm up a bit here in OR.
Looks like a solid recipe but +1 on the crystal.

Eat the licorice stick while you are mashing.

I'd drop the chocolate and go with the brewsmith regarding the Crystal. Heck up to 10% would be safe.
You may want to spread the NB over three additions, and plan on dry hopping with an addtional .75 oz NB ;)
