How do we want to brew

  • Lets all brew the same exact thing

  • Lets brew the same thing, but different hop additions

  • Let me brew what I want to

  • I don't care, I'm just showing up to drink beer and watch/learn

Hops were listed as above, with alternates.

I think any wit yeast would be ok, but getting a few different ones to try would be neat to see which yeast tastes better in the end.

Cascade (5.50%) Hops 1.00 oz 0.00 oz
Goldings, East Kent (5.00%) Hops 1.00 oz 0.00 oz
Hallertauer (4.80%) Hops 0.90 oz 0.00 oz
Saaz (4.00%) Hops 1.00 oz 0.00 oz
Styrian Goldings (5.40%) Hops 1.50 oz 0.00 oz

Get 2oz of everything. :)

I need to fill a tank, and that's about it....no keggle yet :(

OK, didn't make it to MDHB on Friday but I'm going tomorrow. I've also managed to get at least one more batch, no brewer. I'll just do a 10 gallon in my pot.
There may be some more locals chiming in, so Jezter6 I'll be asking for revised specialty grain and hop quantities.

I'll be back in touch sometime tomorrow.

Probably only need to add ~1 or 1.5 oz of hops and enough yeast.

The base of all ingredients is the same, as long as we're getting a 55# bag, we'll be fine. The rest is all variations of hops and spice additions.

The random recipe I picked would be 1oz EKG, but any hops will likely do.

OK Jezter here's the hard part.
Will you provide some printouts of the recipes to me via PM? By Friday if possible.
I'd like to get everything crushed and ready/divided when I drop off all the ingredients.

Gah! I was figuring on dividing things up on Saturday. Since all the ingredients are basically the same, it's just ratios of x pounds of plis vs y pounds of wheat.

the rest is just oz of this spice and oz of that spice.

If 98EXL has a scale, I say screw the division. I'll print out a bunch of recipes on Saturday and we'll figure it out then.

Sounds like a plan. I'll drop the mill off with my other equipment.

Now here's the damage: each 5 gallon batch is $27
Not too bad, not enough people to really see a bulk savings.

See you all Saturday!

That's $27 before spices and candi sugar, But that shouldn't be too much, I think the spices ended up being only about $4 for the whole day and I'll have to figure out the sugar when I get it.

sugar? this will be fun!!!!

What stuff shoudl we all bring? I still do not have the full sized pot :(

I have a burner, and a mashtun, and a tank.

I'll bring my keggle and the 1/2 keg (same as last time) so no need to bring another pot. Please bring flame makers as you all can attest to the variability of my burner.:)
