I have built a brew kettle with a 220v - 5500w water heater element.
After my trial run with water for 90min rapid boil,
all goes well , boils rapidly I lost like 1 1/2 gal evaporation. (element was covered at all times)
I drain the pot and notice element has powered white stuff on it ... lots of it - and a residue on the bottom of the pot. - It's pure white
My first thoughts are its calcium / mineral deposits.
but I'm worried its electrolysis and its micro sized metal powder all over in my pot.
Any ideas? I'm going to go take a photo and post it.
