So I'm use to using cooper kits. I decided to jump on the band wagon and start form dme scratch. I have 3 kg of belgin wheat dme, and hops... So here's was my plan

2 kg of dme boiled for 1 hr of 1/2 the hops in 5.5 l of water.
Cool added to fermenter

Then another

2 kg of dme boiled for 1 hr of 1/2 the hops in 5.5 l of water.
Cool added to fermenter

Then boil the the last 2 kg of dme for 15 min with 5l of water then cool.
Add to fermenter then top up to 25l

Pitch the yeast then that's it....
What do you guys think?

so do you have 3 kg of DME or 6? Can you do it that way? Sure. Is there any advantage? No. Get a bigger pot and do it all at once. If you have no money for a larger kettle then go ahead and give this a shot.
