Bought a double speedball stout kit from my local home brew store. The directions call for steeping a half pound of crushed coffee beans during the last 15 mins of the boil time. My question is if I wanted to add some flavored coffee in there would it hurt anything? I'm looking to get a little chocolate flavor in there.

I would use chocolate malt, real (quality) dark chocolate and/or nibs, quality coffee grinds at flameout, and strong cold-brewed coffee in the secondary.

It appears that you just want additional chocolate flavor with the coffee, which is done all the time without using flavored coffee.

If you wanted a French Vanilla Irish Creme Coffee Stout, well then flavored coffee might be a reasonable option.
