I recently updated my fruit press. Most of it is still from the original that I posted a couple years ago. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f32/my-cider-press-220909/ It worked very well but I wanted a bucket for ease of pressing. I found this post and liked the strainer idea. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f32/cider-press-311251/ I found my strainer at a thrift store.
I had heard of using a trailer jack so I included it in my update. I got mine from Tractor Supply for 20 or 30 dollars. The collecting pan and the cutting board peices were re-used for making a circular press plates and I slotted one to fit underneath the strainer to allow juice to flow out the holes in the bottom. The frame is pretty much the same too. I'm going to try to press some plums this afternoon.
