This spring makes my hops plants 3. I had 11 plants. I just had to relocate all of them, so do I treat them like the 3yr old plants they are and trim bines accordingly? Or do I treat em like noobs and let em romp for crown and root growth?

t,
Once they're established (I'd say 3rd year qualifies as established) you may notice a slight setback after relocating them, but you have to remember they have all of last year's reserves saved up and ready to go. I would suspect you'll get at least the same vigor as last year if not more. Usually by the 3rd year they're ready for a 'spankin' anyway. I just don't have the time anymore to constantly be out there pulling excessive shoots so I tame them back pretty good every couple years. Here's to a not too wet/not too dry spring!
