Forget lazy robins and know-nothing ground hogs! My Cascades (and a few of the more ambitious Goldings) say that spring is here!

I can't wait for the ground to thaw so that I can get these 18 hop-toddlers planted somewhere more permanent!

I wore a t-shirt only today, it was 31°F when I left the house this morning. :D Felt soooo nice to be almost above freezing!

I also checked my hop beds yesterday. Soutshside of a steel building has finally radiated enough sunlight to melt everything to bare ground. The soil surface was wet down to 2" and frozen beyond that. I suspect mine will be coming up in a few weeks if the sun keeps shining.

Checked the flower beds by the house (southside as well), and have tulips and iris and other bulbs coming up about an 1" or so. We also saw our first Robin yesterday on our afternoon walk.

:mug: to spring.

I decided to check on the hops again, and spend some time in the sun this afternoon.

Got them cleaned up a bit... Low and behold!

The Cascade and Centennial are also seeking the sun.
