i was just searching thru some threads, and found a post i left about four months ago. this was what it said.

just curious of some other beers i can make that aren't too bitter, (an esb is about as bitter as i can enjoy) that i can just throw on top of the yeast cake.

any ideas? i like petes wicked ale, blonde ales, esb's, wheat beers like hefeweizens, etc. not too much into big IPA's or stouts

i still like all those beers, but i'm freaking OBSESSED with IPA's now. the more bitter the better. first time i tried one, about 5 months ago, i had to pour it out. it made me sick.

Ya, bitter is an acquired taste. It's kinda like porn; you start off with the playboy stuff and mature into tranny granny bukkake films.

And eventually you branch back out. After the third or fourth double IPA Fest, you start wondering if there will be something new or the same old enamel strippers.

Yeah...just like that. No wonder you log off from chat so quickly.

tranny granny bukkake...?

Wow - and I thought I was a sick pup.......

Wherever rdwj goes, bukkake references seem to follow :D

I used to say that IPAs were the only kind of beer I didn't like, but recently they've been growing on me. I'm sure eventually I'll be an avid follower of hops, if not a hophead.

I've always preferred beers with more flavor, which is why I started homebrewing 14 years ago in the first place... but the first time I had a Harpoon IPA draft, I was hooked. (get it??? .... Harpoon! Hooked! :) Yeah, I know.... technically a harpoon isn't a hook, but I liked it ;-)
