I had a strange moment Saturday. SWMBO conned me once again into a trp to Walmart for some of her feminine essentials, food, clothes, that kinda thing. I did my usual thing. I hung around with her until I thought I had followed her around for a reasonable amount of time until her back was turned then I disappeared myself to go look at the audio visual department....place random obects under the price scanner for a bit, then off to the beer section.

Now, a year or so ago I would have just picked up a case of BMC and that was that. I liked the better stuff hidden away on the top shelf like a bunch of porno mags, but I wouldn't pony up the price they wanted for a decent beer. This time though, I never even glanced at the BMC. I studied the top shelves first. This is Walmart, so they don't have a ton of good stuff, just a few decent ones here or there. Anyways, I was a bit tempted to buy a six pack of Winter Hook, but something clicked inside me. I don't need the bottles yet, and I have homebrew at home!

It was a strange feeling walking away from the beer section empty handed wondering to myself exactly what happened there. It's just totally out of character for me not to make the most out of getting dragged to the shops like that.

My question is: Am I cured? Or am I in NEED of a cure?

You've broken the cycle!

Oh buggar! How will I get home now? :(

Now I think on it more, you are right. There was a kind of "new" feeling as I walked away. It has led me to define a favourite word of mine.

Homebrewer:- A reformed alcoholic that still gets to drink a lot. :)

oh you will be back.

Someday your consumption will out pace your production. Or you will have 7-8 different brews available but have a hankering for something you have not brewed!

Walmart sells beer?!?

Oddly enough, our Walmart does not list beer on those overhead signs that mark each aisle. Beer appears under "Bottled water" I don't know if they are afraid to upset family values, or if they are making a statement about BMC! ;)

Where the production team works for peanuts and the
director locks them into the sound stage all night.

I've had those same thoughts many times. Apart from quarterly trips to beer Meccas to stock up on the *really* good stuff, about the only time that I buy commercial is when I want something that I don't have made at home.

Friday I picked up a 6er of IPA because I don't have anything hoppy that's ready right now and I picked up a 6er of a Düsseldorf Alt to compare to the one that I just hooked up to pressure. For me it's almost always picking up something hoppy.

Now is this part of being Invisible?? Or can she see you, so that you actually do have to sneak off?:D

That's just his stalker experience kicking in. Gnomey forgot to mention that he also groped an mannequin and teabagged the helpless greeter.
