- Tasting Notes
- Very much like Young\'s Double Chocolate Stout, though not quite as sweet.
Ingredients:
3.3# (1 can) Cooper's Irish Stout
5# Pale two-row
2# Quaker 1 minute oats
1# Chocolate malt
1# Cara-Pils
1/3 oz Perle hops (60 min)
Mash grains.
Bring to boil, add hops.
After boiling, add can of stout mix.
Add water to 5 gallons, and yeast.
Please note that I keg my beers, so I pay little attention to my gravities. I am estimating that this is around 5.5% ABV, but YMMV, and I may be grossly understating how much fermentables are in the canned kit.
I have had a few requests to post this. This last batch has also been well received by a BMC drinker who hates stouts... well, she used to hate stout :cross:
