I'm fermenting a cider which is almost done (and is awesome btw) and will be starting a new batch once I bottle this one. I used S-04 and it's been fermenting 10 weeks. I left it in primary. I've thought about pitching on this yeast cake or using some slurry from this ferment to start the next batch. It would save a few dollars but more so I was hoping that next round would ferment faster. Would this work well? Any concerns about my yeast being so old?

Pour it in and walk away... Once you have a cake, burn through the brews until you just don't feel like using that flavor of yeast anymore.

Go for it. I will be doing this monday as well because I don't have any more yeast left but still have an urge to brew! :)
