Water Help...

Sorry for yet another thread on water but wanted some opinions on the water I'm using to brew. Here's the vitals:

Bicarbonate: 58ppm
Calcium: 7ppm
Chloride: 2ppm
Magnesium: 3ppm
Sodium: 6ppm
Sulfate: .54ppm
pH: 7.59
Alkalinity @ CaCO3: 47ppm
Hardness @ CaCO3: 30ppm

I'm not sure about the pH, Alkalinity, & Hardness part... but on the others, it looks to me like everything is rather low. Time to start adding things to the water???

No. This water is pretty good just as it is. If you brew a lot of British style ales or American style where you want to assert hops you can add some gypsum - do it incrementally on successive brews until you get the hops qualities you want.

For many lagers you will want to cut this with some RO or DI water. See the Primer.

If and when you decide to get into advanced water treatment you can ask about how to tailor this water to match a particular ion profile.
