So, I've been out of town for a few days and when I left, I left a Peach-Ginger Wheat in the primary. It had fermented out completed by the time I left, but I was letting it there to let the yeast do some 'cleanup'. Anyway, came home and my blowoff bucket was down to about 1/2cm of starsan solution... I had about 1/2 gallon of blowoff liquid when I left.
Why did this happen, its never happened to any of my other brews!? And I've left brews with a blowoff tube for much longer than 8 days before...
Now it appears this Starsan Solution is resting on top of my Peach-Ginger Wheat, it didn't mix in (or at least not the majority of it). I know starsan is supposed to go ineffective when put into beer, but even 1/2g into 4 1/2g of beer?! I hate to ask a "is it ruined" question, but is it? I was planning to try to siphon the beer into secondary tomorrow and siphon in between the trub layer on bottom and starsan layer on top... Will this work!?
