Hi everyone,
I am planning on brewing Midwest's "HopHead Double IPA" as I have heard nothing but good things so far and am looking to brew a nice hoppy double. I was looking over the recipe
Extract version
5 gallon batch 1.070-1.074 SG
9.3 pounds of Light LME (unhopped)
12 oz Crystal 60L
8 oz Victory
4 oz Aromatic
1 oz Chinook (60)
1/2 oz Centennial (45)
1/2 oz Cascade (30)
1/2 oz Centennial (20)
1/2 oz Cascade (10)
1 oz Crystal (5)
2 oz Cascade leaf - dry hop for 3-10 day
and was wondering if adding a lb of corn sugar would be beneficial. I was thinking that it would serve two purposes, to boost the ABV and to dry the beer out a little.
Could anyone think of reasons not to add the additional sugar and/or does anyone know if it I would need to adjust any of the other ingredients if I did so?
Thanks in advance
