Howdy Y'all,
1,000 bottles of beer in my brewery is one of my fondest dreams.
And 1,000 bottles is an attainable goal for me right now as things have come together so that it is not only possible but practical.
It is just an arbritary number, 1,000 is,
and actually not all that much 'quantity'
as 'brewerys' think of quantity,
and I could drink it up myself in three months.
Its only 100 gallons and I have done 100 before.
But not fast enough in order to accumulate 1,000 full bottles of ale
all in the same place and at the same time.
I have the shelving for it.
I have the bottles.
And I have the skill to brew 20 batches fast enough
to not drink it all before it reaches that number.
In homebrewing that has always remained a goal,
for productivity to surpass consumption.
ie. to brew it faster than you drink it.
270 bottles are on 'the wall' now,
each a 12 oz clean green glass, 'Bavarian', bottle.
5 Gallons in the last secondary,
{ie. 315 bottles}
and I've DME enough for 20 gallons more.
{500 bottles?}
The month is January and I've plenty of time before it gets hot.
It also helps to drink 'store bought' beer and ale,
and a little Tequlia or Scotch.
So as not to get into ones 'hoard' but rather to let it age & increase.
Now to figure out how to arrange them so as to photograph them
and post them here for everybody else to appreciate as well.
Like that old 'song from the sea' says:
Take one down, passh it around,
8,492 bottleobeerzsh on the wall...
