anybody have experience with dry hopping these 2? what kind of results did you get? pine and citrus?
the reason i picked simcoe was cause alot of ipa's i love use it in late additions and dry hopping. none of which i really can detect a "cat" scent from. maybe that catty **** comes from overkill on the simcoe and not enough variation. either way, ive heard its a great hop and ill be finding out what i got when i bottle on saturday..
how about if I replace the term cat pea with kind bud. Does that descriptor work better.
I was thinking of using Simcoe and Willamette to DH my IPA next weekend. I love the smell of Simcoe, but I don't smell cat pee at all. The people that are smelling this, are you smelling it from fresh hops, or in the smell of your beer? After using them for dryhopping?
In the beer and it is the same character that Sauv Blanc normally has. Black currant leaf is a better, and less vulgar, descriptor.
