I read Sammy's 1st post about his toe and thought I bet that hurt. Then promptly drop a weight on my toe. It is almost certainly broke and certainly hurts.

If you are dry hopping, I would just wash the fruit before zesting, crush the seed and add them to the hops. I think you would have a very low risk of infection and that would maximize retaining the potential aromas.

I would still use them, at least for bittering. It reminds me I need to harvest my hops. They have had a rough year, too much heat.
