    Happy 4th of July

A little late, but I didn't get back from vacation until Sunday night. The American Flag bottle caps were well worth the extra dollar at the local brew store and the Sweetwater IPA clone I made was well fit for some pre-fireworks enjoyment on the 18th fairway of Harbour Town in HHI.

Belgian Dark Strong Ale Dark Strong Belgian (Chimay Blue)

I'm brewing this one today. It's storming like crazy in GA, so this should be fun. This will be the 4th time I brew this one and I've found that adding dry champagne yeast a few days before bottling adds a little extra character to it. Aging is very necessary with or without the champagne...

    Crème brûlée beer

Awesome. My wife and I like Southern Tier Creme Brulee as a dessert beer. Might just have to try this out

So you want to go pro?

It's a good and compressed article that I want to show everyone who likes my beer and tells me I should open a brewery. I have trouble making time to brew once or twice a month sometimes, much less the time it takes to always brew and the capital it takes to set up and operate. Great hobby...

Spent Grain? Make Your Best Friend Cookies!

This was my thought on hops too. I know some people go ahead and add the first bittering hop to the boil kettle during sparging and runoff, but I didn't think anyone was adding them to the mash itself. I heard about hops being poisonous to dogs, because a friend of mine was going to order some...

Spent Grain? Make Your Best Friend Cookies!

I need to try some of these. I typically just use it to feed the wild game at my dad's house, but this looks way better

    DIY Wooden Beer Bottle Crate

This is exactly what I was thinking! Might need some updated specs. My stepdad just moved about a mile away from me and is an incredible woodworker, so I'm about to get motivated and learn. This gives me something very functional for my life to learn on!

Belgian Dark Strong Ale Dark Strong Belgian (Chimay Blue)

I just brewed this today and came in at 1.088 in OG. Not too bad as far as I'm concerned. This recipe has done extremely well for me the last 2 times I brewed it!

    Yeast Washing Illustrated

I'm going on 3 years homebrewing now and am about to experiment with my first yeast washing/reuse. This thread is incredible and makes me feel pretty comfortable with doing it! In addition to the money saving I think it should benefit the second batch, which is the Belgian Dark Strong (Like...

    Wanted: Sweetwater Exodus Porter Clone

Seeing as this post is 5 years old and needs to be readdressed I'll bump it to the top. Anyone who hasn't had an Exodus Porter needs to come to the southeast and enjoy one.....then make a recipe! I'd love to be able to recreate this one, but am far too new to home brewing to figure out...

Lazy magnolia Southern pecan Brown Recipe Critique

Well this is a very old thread at this point, so I figured I'd bump it to the top. I'm am a noob to AG(1 batch) and only 4 batches of extract. How big of a difference will it make if I used 2-row instead of Maris Otter? It seems like there are some variations on hops used too, so who feels...
