What's the worst craft brew (commercial) you've had?

I can understand you saying its not a great IPA, but the worst commercial beer you've had? That's hard to believe, but I guess it could be.

    Oregon brewers ....help

Deschutes is a must if you haven't been before. The brewery is in Bend and they have a brewpub in Portland. This is the brewery I miss the most after moving from Oregon to TN.

    Ideas on Keezer fix?

Ya I called an appliance repair place in town and they wont even check it because I modified it from its original use. I guess I may be stuck with trying to find a new one. The ironic thing is when I moved it I bought a vent to put in the side, maybe it was too late.

    Ideas on Keezer fix?

I was wondering if anyone here has any idea on how to fix my keezer. I built a keezer around a year ago and it was running perfectly at my old house. I recently moved to a new apartment, so to move my keezer, I unplugged it and let it sit for a few days, then moved it to my new place. It sat...

Can't get the Flavor Out of the Hops

Are you doing full or partial boils? Hop utilization is not as good in partial boils because of the concentrated wort. If this is the case, you could do late extract additions.

    I guess I'm a drug dealer now?!

I don't understand this reaction by neighbors. Has there ever been an instance where someone has actually cooked meth in their driveway in front of the whole neighborhood?

    The Misfits Of Brewing Science

Amazon usually has some deals from vendors every once in a while. This is the combo I bought, http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0047SHADG/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20. $48 is pretty good if you're ok with a chrome shank (the faucet is SS). Also a good thing about this vendor is shipping doesn't really...

    trouble mating faucet to shank...

It is definitely a common problem and is very odd that Perlick has not addressed it. Seems to only happen with chrome plated brass shanks as mentioned before. When it happened to me, I pushed the faucet onto the shank as much as I could before I started to thread it, this seemed to fit the teeth...

starter pukes all over the place

I will respectfully disagree with you. Yeast love growing at higher temperatures than ale fermenting temps, you certainly won't be "stressing" yeast in the 70F ish range. I am not saying the spent wort will taste good from a higher temp, oxidized starter, however you will have a healthy culture...

starter pukes all over the place

Higher temps are good for starters, all you care about is replicating cells, and you can decant the spent wort. But that is odd that this is happening with a stir plate, I get little to no krausen, maybe a quarter inch with my stir plate

    The Misfits Of Brewing Science

I use a stir plate for starters and have never really seen any krausen if that makes you feel any better.
