    The beer was a Midwest kit (Brass Ale). I used the Muntons dry yeast. The recipe called for 1 oz Fuggle bittering hops for 60 min, Irish Moss for last 15 min, and 1 oz Challenger aroma hops for last 5 min. The funny thing is that I was worried the basement was going to get too cold this...

    Ale Pail rubber seal fell into bucket

    Same thing happened to me. Just brewed my first batch ever and on second night my 2 year old daughter happened to get near it and pushed the air lock down causing the grommet to fall in. I just left it in and figured I would do more harm trying to get it out.
